Imagine watching gorgeous super models strut their stuff during New York’s Fashion Week. Now imagine that those models have four legs and fur.
That’s exactly what we experienced when Chews Happiness™ attended the 12th annual New York Pet Fashion Show in February.
When we first heard about the event, we knew we had to be a part of it. After all, the show and Chews Happiness™ are built on the same principles: building strong connections between pets and people, giving back to others, and spreading happiness.
The event, which falls during New York Fashion Week and just before the Westminster Dog Show, celebrates the extraordinary bond between animals and humans and helps bring attention to rescue pets. Proceeds from the show go to the Mayor’s Alliance for NYC’s Animals, a nonprofit umbrella organization of 150 shelters throughout the New York area.
Humans and rescue dogs (along with some cats, a few chickens and a lizard) worked the runway together wearing colorful and occasionally wacky frocks created from an assortment of materials.
Our co-founder, Meeta, even got a turn on the catwalk. She and an adorable rescue pup modeled matching Karma Happiness Hugs, bringing the show’s overall theme of connection to a whole new level. The central design on the Karma Hug is the Star of Karma, which symbolizes the interconnection between our actions and the universe.
Chews Happiness™ is proud to have been part of an event that’s taking action to have such a “paws-itive” effect on pets, people and the planet!
